Simple Present

Learn how to use the simple present tense.

Affirmative

I do exercise every morning. She works every day. He goes to bed at 10. You like comedies. They work every day. We travel every year.

Negative

She doesn't work every day. They don't work every day.

Interrogative

Does she work every day? Do they work every day? Where does she work? Where do they work ?

Uses

Permanent states: I don’t like comedies. Repeated actions and daily routines or habits: American people eat a lot of hamburgers.

Uses

Timetables/schedules (trains, planes, school) and programmes: The train leaves at 4 pm from Mondays to Fridays. Instructions and itineraries (recipes): First, you roll out the pastry.

Uses

Itineraries are descriptions of travel arrangements: On day three, we visit London. General truth or facts that are always true and laws of nature: Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius.
